One of the best Universities for health education, Worcester has founded the distinctive Three Counties Medical School [TCMS], aiming to widen access to careers in medicine and retain graduates in the local area. Integrated Clinical Methods (ICM) sessions take a unified approach to learning, emphasising the relationship between the skills used in a consultation, including physical and mental health examination, history-taking, clinical reasoning and communication.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide Integrated Clinical Methods (ICM) small group facilitation for Graduate entry MBChB medical students. The students will meet in small groups to learn communication skills and physical examinations skills.
We have two part-time posts available:
- 0.2 FTE (Tuesday)
- 0.4 FTE (Tuesday and Thursday)
Both days would involve direct teaching and, when students are away, allows the post holder to contribute to session preparation, curriculum development, career development and the assessment of students.

Main Duties*:
1. Prepare for and to teach integrated clinical methods (clinical communication skills and basic physical examination techniques).
2. To use the appropriate teaching, learning support and assessment methods.
3. To assess the progress of students both formatively and summatively, with reference to the assessment criteria and provide constructive and timely feedback to students.
4. To undertake the necessary preparation for facilitating small group work and tutorials, including reading of documentation (Facilitators Notes).
5. To provide student guidance, mentorship and pastoral support.
6. To contribute to the quality assurance processes and the evaluation of the MBChB programme.
7. To attend pertinent staff development and in house training activities as required by the role and take part in peer teaching observation and dialogue.
8. To engage in scholarly practice including the marking and writing of assessment questions.
9. Maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job; participate in appropriate training activities and encourage and support staff in their development and training.
10. Take steps to ensure and enhance personal health, safety, and well-being and that of other staff and students.
11. Carry out these duties in a manner that promotes equality of opportunity and supports diversity and inclusion and takes into account the University's commitment to environmentally sustainable ways of working.

- Professional registration in a healthcare profession, e.g., GMC, NMC, HCPC.
- A first degree [Level 6] in a relevant discipline. A higher degree e.g., Masters [Level 7] in a relevant discipline / medical education and / or equivalent professional experience.
Desirable
- Post Graduate Qualification in Medical Education or equivalent such as PG Cert in Learning and Teaching in HE and / or Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (HEA)*.
Experience

- In-depth knowledge, experience and expertise in an appropriate medical / healthcare or scientific discipline.
- Experience of giving constructive, formative feedback to others in the workplace [desirable: providing feedback to students].
