This is an exciting time to join the University, as the Physician Associate MSc. Programme, which has been running successfully for several years, is now part of the Three Counties Medical School, aligning the GMC regulated programmes. Based in our state-of-the-art purpose-built healthcare campus, you will be utilising innovative teaching methodologies and working as part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to the educational needs of our students, alongside other healthcare academic and clinical academic staff in the Medical School and wider College of Health and Science.
We are seeking to recruit two Lecturers/ Senior Lecturers (depending on qualifications and experience) with the vision, commitment, academic ambition and capacity to contribute to the delivery of Physician Associate education.
Main duties of the job
You will require either a high calibre science background or be a clinician from an appropriate discipline (Physician Associate, or Nursing and Midwifery, Allied Health or a doctor}. Either way, you will have a passion for developing and teaching healthcare students both academically and in preparing to practise and will need to be confident in delivering the underpinning knowledge they require to graduate from our highly valued PA programme.

Job responsibilities
1. To contribute to teaching and related activities for the PA programme and other programmes within the School, drawing on own area of specialism to design teaching sessions which maximise the integration of theory to clinical practice.
2. To support specific modules in line with own area of specialism (and for Senior Lecturers, to lead Modules as assigned by the Programme Lead) and ensure the delivery of the teaching contained in these modules accordingly.
3. To design and develop innovative, inspiring, and inclusive learning materials and assessments including e-learning, to fully integrate a blended learning approach.
4. To participate fully in curriculum development work including planning, development and evaluation of teaching and learning.
5. To act as a Personal Academic Tutor.
6. To act as a dissertation supervisor and assess dissertations for the PA Programme and other relevant programmes as requested.
7. To carry out academic administrative work and participate in relevant committees within the School and University.
8. To contribute to the assessment process for students including the setting, marking and moderation of work, individually or collectively as part of a team in accordance with quality assurance procedures, including engaging in OSCE examining activities for the PA programme and the School (as needed).
9. To engage in scholarship, professional practice, and continuous professional development appropriate for the level of the post.
10. To work with undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across the Medical School and wider College of Health and Science and to ensure that interdisciplinary learning is embedded within the Three Counties Medical School.
11. To participate in the recruitment of students, including selection events and open days.
12. To participate fully in the life of the School, College, and University, by engaging in representational and ambassadorial activities in support of the School's activities and carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the Dean.
