Job summary

Our Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) programmes were established in 2004, and have evolved to reflect the many specialities of the ACP role and apprenticeship delivery. We are one of the largest providers of ACP education within the region, our programmes are professionally recognised, respected and all fourteen pathways are accredited by the HEE Centre for Advancing Practice. We pride ourselves on innovation, inclusive learning and inter professional education. We are looking for two Enhanced Level Skills Coach to join our thriving ACP apprenticeship team.

Main duties of the job

  • Develop, Support and signpost apprentice learners both in the workplace and university environment within the school of Clinical & Biomedical Sciences, to successfully develop and evidence knowledge, skills, behaviours and competence to successful progression/completion of their apprenticeship programme.
  • Contribute to the development of learning and future apprenticeship ventures within the School of Clinical and Biomedical Sciences, wider faculty and Central Apprenticeship Team.
  • The post holder will be the first point of contact for apprenticeship learners, employers to provide ongoing appropriate clinical, professional and pastoral support and will advise on learning and development opportunities and relevant signposting.
  • Raise the profile of health / ACP apprenticeships both within the University & with employers across the healthcare sectors.

On a day-to-day basis, you will be developing and fostering new and existing relationships between ACP apprentices and their employers in the health care sector. Your role will be pivotal in the progression of our apprentices on their learning journey, providing support and building cohesive relations with employers, clinical mentors, learners and the university. You will be the first point of contact for our apprentices, clinical mentors and the workplace. As such the successful candidate is expected to raise the profile of Apprenticeships within the University and with employers across the sector.

Experience of working with employers and apprentices and a sound understanding of the delivery of apprenticeships is desirable. The successful candidate should demonstrate a practical awareness of current developments in practice based nurse education and as well as being able to travel regionally and nationally on a frequent basis as an essential requirement of the role.

Current relevant registration with professional / accreditation body is essential requirement for this role, as is having DBS clearance.

Higher degree and relevant knowledge /healthcare experience of working with employers and apprentices and a sound understanding of the delivery of the Advanced Clinical Practitioner apprenticeships is desirable.

The successful candidate should demonstrate a practical awareness of current developments in practice in apprenticeship delivery and post graduate education and as well as being able to travel regionally and nationally on a frequent basis as an essential requirement of the role.

Essential

  • Masters Degree / working towards MSc level study. (Relevant healthcare experience would be considered).
  • Current relevant registration with professional/accreditation body

  • A relevant teaching qualification and/or fellowship status of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), or a willingness to obtain fellowship membership of the HEA within a specified time frame
