Aurora Cedars School in Wolverhampton offers a bespoke education provision for up to 80 pupils aged 5-19 who have ASC/SEMH needs. We are looking for an enthusiasticAssistant Psychologistto join us in September 2025.

Main duties of the job

Some of the key duties include:

  • Support the collection, scoring and analysis of outcome measures (e.g. using Microsoft Forms), including pupil, parent and staff feedback.
  • Collate and analyse service data to support quality improvement and evaluation.
  • Assist with audits, service development projects and outcome monitoring under supervision
  • Carry out observations of pupils across structured and unstructured settings to support psychological understanding and formulation.
  • Administer and score standardised psychological assessments (e.g. cognitive, emotional and behavioural measures), adapting sensitively to student needs.
  • Co-facilitate therapeutic or skills based group interventions in collaboration with education staff.
  • Support the delivery of training to schools staff on topics such as autism, anxiety, emotional regulation or trauma informed approaches.

Job Role:

We would like to appoint a candidate to be a key member of the clinical team in delivering and evaluating psychological support to our young people. Liaison with other professionals in the school will be a key part of the role, including teaching staff. The post-holder will undertake various tasks under the supervision of the clinical psychologist and have regular opportunities for professional development.
