Job summary

As ourClinical Psychologist, your rolewill be to provide a clinical psychology service to young people with ASC/SEMH needs. you will use psychological models and practices to enhance the learning, cognitive and emotional skills of young peoplein order toprepare them for adult life and independent living.

Main duties of the job

Your work will involve consultation with parents, carers, teachers, social workers,doctorsand other people involved in the young persons care and education in a variety of ways.

You will be a proponent of the schools Integrated Therapeutic Approach whereby therapists are a core member of the school staff team, working dynamically and systemically to support the education team so they can respond to young peoples communication and behaviour to reduce reliance on staff or other adults.

This is a dual site role, and you willbe requiredto split your working week equally between both schools.

  • Registered and accredited with Health & Care Profession Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist
  • Demonstrate knowledge and ability to promote the dignity and individuality of young people by encouraging effective communication, makingchoicesand reducing support needs
  • Develop positive professional relationships with young people, parents,familiesand colleagues
  • Promote attitudes that value young people with Special Educational Needs as individuals with a right to be treated with respect
