Job summary

Turning Passion into Purpose. The Division of Physiotherapy, Sport Rehabilitation and Chiropractic seeks to appoint an Associate Professor (Grade 9) in Physiotherapy. This post will come with the additional role of being Head of Division for Physiotherapy, Sport Rehabilitation and Chiropractic. The Head of Division role is based on a three-year term which is renewable for a further three years if there is a mutual agreement. The Head of Division role attracts enhanced pay during the term. We welcome applications from candidates with strong academic leadership skills, research credentials and strong teaching and learning abilities, who will be committed to the growing success and development of the School.

Within the Physiotherapy discipline, we are especially keen to receive applications from those with subject expertise and knowledge in areas that can be used for the benefit of the division and the wider school. The successful applicant will be able to deliver a high quality undergraduate, postgraduate and executive education, as well as research and enterprise activities aligned with the Schools Research and Enterprise Strategy and KPIs (REF2028 and KEF).

Research, knowledge transfer, income generation and international collaborations in the subject area are all desirable attributes in a School with a young and vibrant research community and innovativeteaching programmes.

Examination Boards and other Divisional, School and University meetings 3.Collaborate with the Course Leads and support staff in curriculum development and curriculum validation process for pre and post qualifying courses in health and social care. 4.Actively support the School, University, and Enterprise activities that promote or develop research, Knowledge Transfer (application) and professional practice 5.Lead consulting projects that are income generating and that enhance our stakeholder partnerships. 6.Actively produce and sustain output of publications in area of specialism suitable for inclusion in the Research Excellence Framework. Review papers, books, other recognised research outputs, and grant applications, both within the University and for other organisations. 7.Support for the core business of the Division, Institute and wider University, including participation in the processes for the recruitment, selection, enrolment, and induction of students and staff. 8.Administrative duties required for the smooth running of the Physiotherapy programmes and those of the Division, including maintaining assessment records and carrying out module evaluations for Divisional programmes in accordance with University regulations. 9.External engagement with the professional discipline, local community, schools and colleges, employers, international partners, NHS colleagues and associate faculty.
