Job summary
The purpose of the role is to facilitate high standards of clinical
practice to Primary Care and a key objective is to promote Primary Care as an
attractive setting for nurses to develop new pathways to enable entry into the
specialism. The post holders will need to develop networks to support nurses
and reduce isolation and vulnerability of their roles.
You
should be a Registered Nurse with post registration experience in Primary Care
with experience as a clinical educator or an understanding of pre-registration.
The role of Primary Care Educator will initially work with the Primary Care
Network (PCN)’s in the Integrated Care Systems (ICS)
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities: Regional and ICS KPI’s to be agreed
You will work alongside learners in a coaching and mentoring capacity to promote best practice, to motivate and inspire staff to achieve their best and promote a positive learning culture within Primary Care.Attend relevant employer and sector groups to raise the profile of the provision for the trainee nursing associate role with particular focus on promoting the relevant support funding offered by HEE and the ARR’s funding to support back fill from NHSE/I.
Advise employing organisations on suitability of candidates and entry requirements required for apprenticeship programme, including sign posting where required, for internal and external candidates who want to apply for the nursing associate apprenticeship.
Encourage the development of primary care settings as a learning environment, including development and support of supervisors and assessors, raising the profile of nursing in primary care.
Signpost candidates to appropriate learning needed to meet the educational requirements for their desired course. For example, functional skills Maths and English.
