Greater Manchester Training Hub Finance Manager/ Analyst

The Greater Manchester Training Hub aims to raise the profile of general practice through engagement, education, experience and expansion. GM Training Hub is a collaboration of four local training hubs, providing support for general practice around workforce development and retention.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced highly detail-focused Finance Manager/ Analyst. You will join the Greater Manchester Training Hub (GMTH) team to deliver on and support our range of services offered across Greater Manchester. Working hours will be discussed at interview and the role is based in our Wigan offices. Remuneration for this role is £19.94 to £20.97 per hour. The role will be offered initially as full time for six months and will be reviewed at that point. Part time hours will be considered.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a development-focused and experienced Finance Manager/Analyst to manage and coordinate all aspects of accounting. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting high-level analysis of revenue, expenses and overhead. You will work closely with senior management to help make critical decisions about investment funding, and expense and programme/scheme management.

Job Summary

To provide a comprehensive and coordinated Finance Manager/Analyst management and administrative service to the Greater Manchester Training Hub.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Gather and organise financial data from all locality training hubs with regards to programs delivered on behalf of GMTH

To support the Strategic Business Manager with budget setting with regards to annual infrastructure spends across all localities

Compile and analyse financial reports and find discrepancies that require senior managements attention

Manage the GMTH Funding streams and devote time to risk management.

Prepare financial reports with reliable conclusions that management can use to implement more effective operational strategies

Forecast models for revenue changes and expenditure increases/decreases

Provide monthly financial management reports

Advise the programme leads and strategic business manager on adherence to projects scheduled and advise of any over or under spend based on program budgets.

Collaborate with the senior management team on strategic project presentations and funding applications

Requirements

5+ years experience working in finance and/or accounting

Degree in finance preferred

Proven track record of working with multi-disciplined teams across a wide area to implement changes resulting from financial analysis

AAT certification

Demonstrated ability to assess risks accurately

Multi-site experience preferred
