Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable educator to join the Dental Senior Management Team within Yorkshire and the Humber, as the Associate Dental Dean for Dental Core Training. The role is 3PAs per week.
The post holder will have experience of, and commitment to, postgraduate dental education and the delivery of high quality educational and training.The post holder must hold current registration with the GDC as a Dentist
Whilst focusing on dental education and training across Yorkshire and the Humber with clear leadership from the Postgraduate Dental Dean, the post holder must also support the strategic vision for the long term recruitment and retention of a dental workforce. The post holder will be able to work on national reform and develop effective strategies and operational policies for promoting innovation across the region with regards to Dentistry in line with the actions set out in the Advancing Dental Care Review Report and support the work of the Dental Education Reform Programme (DERP).
The post holder will have demonstrable experience of leadership roles and the ability to be an advocate and positive role model, together with experience in programme management, educational support and quality processes.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will have responsibility for all Dental Core Training programmes and will be in a position to influence developments to meet future workforce needs.
Their main duties will involve:
- Support to develop and improve education and training delivery for the benefit of patient care, as a member of the Senior Management Team
- Recruitment and management of vacancies within the Dental Core Training programme
- Assuring the quality and improvement of education and training
- Management of Training Programme Directors
- Representing the Directorate at both local and national meetings
- Innovating in all aspects of dental core education and training by
- Developing good working relationships with colleagues to ensure effective training across all levels and value for money
