Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the PMO Team in our busy Strategy and Transformation Directorate - North West. The successful candidate will need to be able to work quickly and independently in what can be a very faced paced and rapidly changing environment. The ideal candidate will already be working at a senior level, possessing excellent programme management skills, with an ability to plan, manage and deliver a portfolio of projects, whilst manage competing priorities to tight deadlines. You will be an excellent communicator and negotiator, excelling in stakeholder engagement, demonstrating a high level of autonomy and decision making. An experienced line manager you will be have previously led the successful delivery of team objectives. You will be instrumental in supporting North West Strategy and Transformation PMO to deliver the North West Regional Programmes and the NHS Long Term Plan 2024/25. You will already be familiar with improvement methodologies and passionate about improving the quality of care for patients, across the North West region.

Main duties of the job

A good working knowledge of the Long-Term Plan.

  • Receive, understand and respond effectively to complex communications from a variety of sources, especially the national policy team and our partners in the North West three ICS systems.
  • Design reporting processes for collecting and collating information in a way that is simple to follow for all partners (collaboratively with other teams).
  • Support the governance of the North West Regional programmes and business priorities for example organising key Board meetings, national deep-dives as well as ensuring key governance documentation is in place.
  • Build strong relationships with partners both in the regional team, national team and in our 3 ICSs through your courteous and respectful approach.
  • Ability to identify risks, anticipate issues, creating solutions and to resolve problems in relation to project or service delivery.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
