Job summary

The Faculty Support Team supports the development of Foundation and Secondary Care Specialty Schools (including Public Health and Dental). This involves the recruitment and development of educators; and working with them to support the delivery of training to trainees and trainers.

The team support curriculum delivery in two specific ways:

  • Managing the Curriculum Study Leave process by working with national teams, local education providers and the Specialty schools
  • Managing events run by and for Schools, including training courses, conferences and meetings.

Further functions of the Faculty Support Team include, but are not limited to; educator recruitment, induction and development, oversight of virtual learning, oversight of Trust based school administrators and support for Trainee Fellows.

The Faculty Support Officer will be responsible for the provision of high quality service, initiative and administrative support for a range of projects and initiatives within the Faculty Support Team, including supporting the Blended Learning Platforms.

The postholder may be expected to carry out other appropriate delegated duties as required.

The role is based in east of England region, Cambridge, face to face office attendance will be required, alongside travel across the region when and where necessary. However, the job can be worked in a hybrid model with some time working from home.

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Acting as project and administrative lead for specified workstreamsand schools
  • Taking the lead on promoting new initiatives within East of Englandworking closely with the Account Manager
  • Undertaking reporting and analysis of project information to supportproject delivery
  • Working closely with internal and external stakeholders (MedicalEducation Managers, Heads of Schools, Training ProgrammeDirectors).
  • Co-ordination of ad hoc areas of work that are required to supporteach project/initiative
  • Reviewing processes/policies with an aim to improve anddevelop/streamline processes/policies, ensuring consistency withinNHSE
  • Management and co-ordination of activities, training courses andevents, as required by Account Manager
  • Sharing good practice within the team and follow appropriateguidance and processes as instructed. Contribute to efforts within the team to continually improve our performance.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
