We have an exciting opportunity for a communications professional to join the Workforce, Training and Education directorate at NHS England.
The post holder will work as part of adynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across their assigned role.
They will deliver high quality, insight-led communications and engagement for their assigned area(s) that is measurable, impactful and helps policy, products and services to succeed. The role will develop activity plans to deliver communications and engagement strategies for their assigned area(s).
This includes (but is not limited to) the following:
- Develop compelling, integrated, content to best achieve the aims and objectives in their assigned area(s) contributing to forward planning and gridding processes
- Deliver communications and engagement activity for assigned area(s), developing a good understanding of how they align to the communications objectives for NHSE and the overall strategy and business plan
- Work effectively with other directorates, regional teams and the national comms team to ensure a one-team coherent approach
- Works with minimal supervision, recognising when an issue warrants escalation

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to support the business needs of the Workforce, Training and Education Directorate. You can be reassigned to different directorates as the business priorities for NHS England change and develop.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

- Experience of working simultaneously on multiple communications and engagement activities, with excellent project management, planning and coordination across a range of communications and engagement disciplines and channels
- Knowledge of working in matrix environment where you are part of a comms and engagement team but are working directly with other policy/product/service teams, their senior leaders and stakeholders.
- Good understanding of varied communication channels, their impact, limitations, risks and opportunities, and good experience in their use.
