Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and professional individual to join the Innovation and Education Team as part of the Strategy, Planning and Supply sub-directorate in Workforce, Training and Education.

The Commissioning Officer will be a fully integrated member of the Innovation and Education team and will support the function to ensure NHS England commissions a workforce to meet the service demands of the future in a collaborative and transparent landscape and ensure high quality, safe and effective patient care is delivered.

The role will be supporting the overall function of Education Commissioning including, development and organisation of the region's education commissioning plan aligned to system plan.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will responsible for:

  • Supporting the team to ensure that the portfolio of tasks/projects is delivered effectively.
  • Supporting the team in the targeting of resources, monitoring spends, implementation and evaluation of the tasks/projects by providing high quality support including complex information and analysis, communications and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ensuring accurate and open communication and co-ordination with a range of organisations and individuals, researching and drafting correspondence and papers and ensuring the management of specific tasks, supporting reporting and analysis across a range of specialties, functions and projects.
  • Being a key member of the team as well as supporting effective communication and stakeholder management, both internally and externally.
  • To work collaboratively across NHS England

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
