Job summary

Learner Support & Faculty Development (LSFD) is a department within NHS England Workforce, Training and Education which contributes to the provider governance responsibilities of the regional Postgraduate Dean in ensuring learners meet legal requirements and standards. LSFD supports postgraduate doctors and dentists in training and their trainers to remain in work, progress in their careers and ultimately to provide the best patient care.

Main duties of the job

This position is currently a hybrid working arrangement with up to 3 days per week face to face at Stella House Newburn Riverside.

We are looking for a professional with demonstrable initiative and competence in event planning, budget management, evaluating data and making recommendations for improvements. To excel in this role, excellent communication, personal organisation and prioritisation skills are required for producing high quality reports and presenting these to diverse groups of multi-professional stakeholders, including senior and national leaders.

Understanding of working in the NHS, robust attention to detail and a proactive problem solving approach, is highly desirable. Support to develop existing skills will be provided. A comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel will be an advantage when recording and manipulating data, budget planning and monitoring expenditure.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

Desirable

  • Evidence of recent CPD relevant to role

  • Significant experience of business planning, budget monitoring, evaluating performance, managing risks and report writing
  • Experience of organising a suitable programme of training events for different stakeholders meeting external requirements
  • Comprehensive experience of using Microsoft Office including Excel
  • Evidence of experience in high quality accurate minute taking / agenda setting

Desirable

  • Understanding of working within the NHS and knowledge of medical education pathways
