Job summary

The Vaccination and Screening Team (VaST) is seeking a programme manager to provide programme support to the implementation and development of the Community Pharmacy Covid Vaccination Sites across the South West.

Main duties of the job

The post will support the delivery model programme leads and will link with national work on those areas and specifically with Community Pharmacy sites and other organisations that support delivery of the Covid-19 vaccination programme in the South West Region; assuring local preparations; responding to operational enquiries; coordinating the operational response within the SW Region and meeting national reporting requirements for the Covid-19 vaccination programme.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.

Contribute to the development of key performance indicators and milestones for specific projects.

Interrogate and analyse, sometimes, highly complex information to support the delivery of clear project reporting and project outcomes.

Write and submit regular project reports for the programme board showing progress against milestones, status, resource requirements, issues, risks and dependencies, making recommendations where a range of options may exist.

Provide additional support to the wider project management team through working flexibly to directly assist other projects where they may be a subject matter expert or through research and development and delivery of materials as required.

Implementation of Make Every Contact Count (MECC) across the Community Pharmacy Covid delivery model.

  • Educated to masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Experience in implementation and delivery of a Covid Vaccination Programme.
  • Excellent understanding of the delivery model for the Covid Vaccination Programme across the South West.
  • Excellent understanding and ability to implement Make Every Contact Count (MECC) across the Covid Vaccination Programme within a Community Pharmacy setting.
  • Experience and understanding of working with Primary Care Contractors to implement a new service.
