Job summary

NHS England North West Public Health Directorate are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic and effective Consultant in Dental Public Health, to work as part of our dedicated and committed dental public health team. The successful individual will bring professional credibility and robust leadership to engage, support, develop and deliver the dental public health offer to the NHS, Local Government and additional health and social care stakeholders. They will work with health care public health colleagues to reduce oral and general health inequalities, improve oral health, and oral healthcare service delivery across the North West

Main duties of the job

The Consultant in Dental Public Health will be expected to provide strategic leadership and expert dental public health advice for NHS England - North West.

The successful candidates will also provide their expertise and advice to local public health systems, clinical dental services as well as other health and care services, to support and lead improvement in oral health and contribute to reduction in both oral and health inequalities. They will collaborate effectively with Local Authorities, Integrated Care Systems, Partnerships and Boards as well as Primary Care Networks, Local Professional Networks, dental and general public health colleagues, academic colleagues and the national public health networks.

Within the North West , they will support the strategic contribution to improving and protecting the public's health and reducing health inequalities. There will be opportunities to contribute to national work programmes and develop academic links

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

NHS England hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met. To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you'll usually need to be paid the 'standard' salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the 'going rate' for your job, whichever is higher.   • Successful completion of an SAC-approved 4-year minimum training programme in Dental Public Health (3 years if in possession of an SAC-approved Masters qualification), or within 6 months of completion, or equivalent

Desirable

  • Additional postgraduate qualifications relevant to role
