Job summary
The Training Programme Director in Emergency Medicine (North West) will support the Head of School in the Strategic Development of the School of Emergency Medicine.
The post holder will lead on the development of the School's Wellbeing Strategy with a particular focus on Neurodiversity as well as supporting the School to develop an Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity Policy to ensure training is delivered in a fair, equitable manner that recognises and maximises the contributions to be made by all trainees and trainers.
The post holder will be a member of the School Board and support the School Operational Programme.
This is a 3 years secondment with potential to extend to a maximum of three years, subject to mutual agreement.
Main duties of the job
- Work in collaboration with the Head of School and other Training Programme Directors to develop a strategy for Wellbeing and Neurodiversity as well as supporting the School's development of an Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity Policy that together support the education, development and work of Emergency Medicine trainees and trainers.
- Work in collaboration with the Head of School for Emergency Medicine to develop and implement a Medical Workforce Strategy which supports the recruitment and retention of Emergency Medicine
- To always demonstrate the values and behaviours of a senior Emergency Medicine Consultant and Educational Leader in line with the values of NHS(E) and the Royal College of Emergency Medicine and with reference to the principles of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusivity.

- Experience of organizing / delivering education programmes / course
- Considerable experience of working with doctors in an educational context including experience as an Educational Supervisor.
- Trained and experienced in recruitment, selection and Equality and Diversity in the last 3 years
