Senior Analyst (Principal Information Analyst)

NHS England

The closing date is 16 October 2024

Job summary

Within Data and Analytics our vision is to be the leading data services provider for health and social care across England through creating innovative and high-quality data products and services that give our customers the knowledge and capabilities required to deliver the best outcomes for citizens.

This is an exciting opportunity for a lead analyst to work closely with senior leaders in NHS England, as part of the Top of the Office (TOTO) Analytical Pool. The team sits within Operational Insights, under Data and Analytics. The aim of the TOTO Analytical Pool is to ensure that the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) have access to the data, analysis and insights that they need to do their jobs effectively. The team is responsive, working across a wide range of programme areas and priorities to provide high-quality analytical support to TOTO.

Main duties of the job

The role is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated, skilled and capable analyst to have exposure to TOTO. It will be a stimulating, fast-paced environment in which to develop skills, managing ad hoc requests whilst delivering medium term projects.

As a lead analyst within the TOTO Analytical Pool, you will be expected to:

Deliver analyses and insights that support TOTO to be able to do their jobs effectively.

Lead the development of analytical products, dashboards and other bespoke tools for TOTO.

Have a portfolio covering a subset of analytical areas, in which you are the team expert and best to advise on.

Build and manage collaborative relationships relevant to your portfolio, across the health system, including internal and external policy and analytical teams.

Lead the example of best practice with respect to analytical use of the Federated Data Platform.
