Job summary

NHS England Workforce Training and Education (WTE) manages the education, training and development of NHS clinical professionals including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, doctors, dentists, nurses and allied health professionals.

This post supports the planning, management and delivery of pharmacy education workstreams across the East of England, working with the Pharmacy Education team.

Main duties of the job

Main Duties Include:

  • Supporting the Head of Pharmacy and their teams to ensure that their workstream of programmes are planned and managed effectively and take the lead in assisting in their successful delivery.
  • Managing the Team's business support function, including developing and managing the team's business plan, progress and reporting risk and issue management.
  • Managing all corporate business returns, including planning and workforce returns.
  • Supporting the team with the development of the pharmacy education programmes and linking to the multi-professional school with shared common resources.
  • Managing the team's internal and external communication strategy.
  • Managing the administration team and functions undertaken by the team.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

  • Educated to degree level with additional qualification to Masters level in relevant subject or equivalent level knowledge gained from significant experience whilst working at a similar level
  • Specialist knowledge across a range of administration and project or business management procedures and practices and underpinned by theoretical or practical knowledge or experience
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

Desirable

  • Further training in project management or financial management would be desirable

  • Ability to prepare and produce concise yet insightful communications for dissemination to senior stakeholders and a broad range of stakeholders as required
  • Ability to receive a verbal brief and initiate a work stream from this brief with ease
  • Able to demonstrate value for money for project spend through tracking, managing and delivering agreed benefits.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work on own initiative to manage own workload through effective prioritising and time management.

  • Demonstrable experience of monitoring budgets and business planning processes
  • Experience of managing and motivating a team and reviewing performance of the individuals.

  • Experience of managing a financial budget including reporting and acting on variance
  • Significant knowledge and experience of quality, performance or project management
