NHS England Workforce, Training and Education have an exciting opportunity to work as part of the Trainee Pharmacist Programme Team within the South West region. We are looking for passionate, enthusiastic individuals to provide professional expertise to shape and provide the building blocks for the pharmacist workforce of the future. The role will involve working with trainees, education, training and development leads, and pharmacy employers across the region to ensure consistency, standardisation, and quality management of the Pharmacy Foundation Training Programme in the South West.

Main duties of the job

Under the direction of the Pharmacy Foundation Training Lead this post supports trainee pharmacists across the South West to:

o Design and implement appropriate teaching, learning and assessment plans to support trainees and their educational supervisorso Be an active member of the team contributing to the design and development of the pharmacy education programmeo Support the business planning processes to provide input into strategic developmento Identify and support pharmacy trainees requiring additional supporto Contribute to the availability of high-quality training and support for education leads and supervisorso Provide professional expertise on a specific portfolio of worko Manage the provision and development of resources, services and opportunities for pharmacists and their educators from across the healthcare professionso Support equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives in pharmacy educationo Oversee a portfolio of training activity programmeso Have an understanding and awareness of how the activities and objectives of the department align with the wider business planning for NHS England Workforce, Training and Education, in particular to the South West and a designated local area.

The post holder will have a base at an NHS England office location but may be required to work at other locations within the South West from time to time. You will have the opportunity to work remotely as determined by the changing needs of the business

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
