The post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across the NHP team at national level but linking in with the NHP regional teams
This is an exciting opportunity to develop and implement a business management framework for the division and lead its delivery.
The role supports business transformation and ensures value for money in planning, commissioning, and service delivery. It combines subject matter expertise with technical skills to drive strong service outcomes.
The NHP business manager role will be to:
Design a framework for all business management activity for the NHP division
Engagement with senior stakeholders
Responsible for coordinating NHP short, medium and long-term strategy and plans
Ensure the team has suitable information and administrative systems and processes in place to meet the business objectives of the NHP division linked to directorate and corporate objectives
Responsibility for NHP budget management
Support budget setting negotiations
Drafting business cases for the division
Managing the procurement processes with support from central PMO
Identification and management of any business related risks and issues
Ensure robust financial governance is in place
Support workstream leads in drafting business cases and management of approvals process
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be the key contact for all NHP division business matters including, but not limited to:
Leading the design and implementation of business management framework for the NHP division
Responsible for linking NHP short, medium and long-term objectives to Commercial Directorate and corporate objectives
Responsible for the delivery assurance for NHP objectives
Responsible for drafting, agreeing and implementing robust governance and process for all matters related the divisions business
Responsible for linking in with NHSE&I Commercial Directorate business management workstream for all business matters
Responsible for managing NHP budgets
Leading on NHSE&I Financial system management - NHP element
Responsible for linking in with Improvement and Commercial central finance team and holding monthly and quarterly budget Reviews
Supporting the NHP senior team on ad-hoc basis as and when required
- Establishing an internal network of other business manager including Commercial directorate to ensure compliance and
developing best practice for the division
Responsible for managing the NHP structure
Responsible for support the division on all HR matters including recruitment and the associated processes
Responsible for managing NHP cost centres
Provide weekly corporate information to all staff on a weekly basis

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
Leave:27 days per year and 8 bank holidays, pro rata if part-time. Leave increases to 29 days per year after 5 years' service and 33 days per year after 10 years' service.
Pension:The NHS Pension Scheme is based on length of service and salary at retirement (not dependent on investment returns).
