This is an exciting opportunity to take part in the development of Postgraduate General Practice and Primary Care Education throughout the West Yorkshire region of HEEYH. The postholder will work with the Deputy Head of School and other colleagues in leading the delivery of a wide range of functions to ensure the quality of training within the scheme and specifically for ARCP's.

Main duties of the job

This post gives you the opportunity to work at a specialist level in the ARCP field within the GP School. You will be a valued specialist resource for your colleagues. You will work with the central faculty team to ensure delivery of strategic changes. You will be supported by a senior team member to deliver your role. You will be working both with educator and programme support teams to ensure high quality delivery of training in Yorkshire and the Humber.

Qualifications and Training

Essential

  • Primary clinical healthcare qualification
  • Membership/Fellowship of a College, Faculty, professional association and/or regulatory body
  • Attendance at courses aimed to support educational development at appropriate level in the Trainer, etc.)

Desirable

  • Working towards higher professional qualification such as Diploma or Masters in Medical Education

Skills and Abilities

  • A strong sense of vision and ability to innovate
  • Ability to problem solve and maintain objectivity
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to quickly establish personal and professional credibility with colleagues and other key stakeholders
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Demonstrates clinical and educational leadership skills

Experience and Knowledge

  • Experience of working with learners or doctors in training in an educational context

  • Understanding of developments involving the relevant Colleges/Faculties, professional bodies, related NHS organisations and regulatory bodies
  • Active involvement in, and up to date with, appraisal processes
  • Knowledge of the NHS, its structures and processes, including an understanding of healthcare/multi-professional workforce matters, the Gold Guide and educational theory
  • Demonstrates a proactive approach to personal CPD as a clinician in their professional role
