We're seeking a training and education manager to provide a broad range of business and administrative management to the pharmacy workforce, training and education (WT&E) team across the South West.

The post-holder will be a key member of the NHSE SW WT&E Pharmacy team whose overarching goal will be to enable the delivery of an exciting workforce programme. The role will primarily support the Regional Head of Pharmacy and Head of School of Pharmacy to ensure high quality delivery of operational goals, governance and programme activity, and overall effective functioning of the business and performance agenda within the team.

Tasks will include management of the business function, monitoring progress against delivery of work programmes and managing financial processes. Being the interface between Senior Management and the wider network of stakeholders you'll build strong relationships with key pharmacy stakeholders across the region.

Main duties of the job

  • Support the Regional Head of Pharmacy, and their teams to ensure that their workstream of programmes are planned and managed effectively and take the lead in assisting in their successful delivery
  • Manage the Team's business support function, including developing and managing the team's business plan, progress and reporting risk and issue management
  • Manage the internal and external communication strategy
  • Manage all corporate business returns, including planning and workforce returns
  • Take a lead in the coordination of training & development and recruitment activity across the Team
  • Oversight and management of all aspects of the Team budgets.

  • Educated to degree level with additional qualification to master's level in relevant subject or equivalent level knowledge gained from significant experience whilst working at a similar level level
  • Specialist knowledge across a range of administration and business management procedures and practices and underpinned by theoretical or practical knowledge or experience

Desirable

  • Further training in project management and financial management

  • Experience of working within a Senior Administration role with line management responsibilities
  • Experience of developing and implementing effective procedures and policies such as quality management reviews and pharmacy governance.
  • Significant experience of successfully operating in a politically sensitive and confidential environment with diverse stakeholder input

  • Experience and understanding of proven implementation of project management methodologies.
