Job summary
The Kent Surrey and Sussex (KSS) Primary Care Clinical Workforce Development Lead is an important role to support the delivery of NHS England priorities across the corresponding ICBs as part of the South East Workforce, Training and Education (WT&E) Directorate. The role supports the creation of the right workforce to meet population health needs, through a transforming primary care landscape that includes integrated care partnerships and primary care networks.
Under direction of the KSS Primary Care Dean and Head of School of Primary Care the post-holder will act as a clinical lead across KSS. They will work with the corresponding training hub leads and embedded WT&E staff, being responsible for NHSE strategies offering operational leadership of primary care workforce programmes. The post-holder will work with the training hubs in support of their ongoing maturity and in relation to the Primary Care workforce plans being articulated by ICBs to deliver out of hospital care through multi professional expansion and integration.
The Primary Care Department aims to be an outstanding collaborative, compassionate, and inclusive primary care department that will enable the education and training, flourishing, growth, and sustainability of expert generalism and of the whole primary care workforce.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will work with the Primary Care Dean and the Head of KSS School of Primary Care to ensure the delivery of an integrated workforce across a spectrum of those supporting healthcare provision in Primary Care.
The postholder will have responsibility for the promotion, co-ordination, provision, and management of multi-professional educational activities across Kent & Medway, Surrey Heartlands and Sussex Integrated Care Boards (ICB). They will provide leadership to the ICB based Locality Training Hub Workforce Development Leads in support of recruitment and retention initiatives.
In addition, the postholder will have responsibility as part of a regional WT&E South East Primary Care Team working closely with other leads and managers across the South East and nationally to reduce variation, build consistency and ensure a quality learning experience.
The postholder will provide leadership to Locality Training Hub Workforce Development Leads in the development of Training Hub maturity to support delivery out of hospital care through education and training for our multi professional workforce.
The postholder will participate in Regional and National NHSE WT&E programmes to develop and deliver new approaches in response to national mandates.
The successful applicant will be expected to be a registered healthcare professional with experience of educational leadership in a community or primary care setting and remain registered with a license to practice.
