Job summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Procurement Director to lead our procurement team within the New Hospital Programme (NHP). This role is integral to transforming the way hospitals are built, driving significant savings, and implementing innovative approaches in sustainability, digital technology, and new care methods.

Main duties of the job

About the Role: As the Procurement Director, you will provide strategic leadership and advice on all procurement matters, ensuring value for money and strengthening supplier relationships. You will manage a procurement team under the Commercial Director, establishing strategies and modernizing procurement operations within NHP.

About the Team: The New Hospital Programme is committed to changing the way hospitals are built, achieving significant savings through repeatable design, modern methods of construction, new approaches to clinical planning, and the implementation of innovation in sustainability and digital technology. You will be part of a forward-thinking team dedicated to delivering the NHS's Health Infrastructure Plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Represent NHP as a procurement expert, shape and lead the procurement vision, and nurture the development of the procurement team.
  • Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement procurement policies and strategies, ensuring alignment with NHP objectives and national standards.
  • Procurement Campaigns: Oversee procurement activities, manage supplier relationships, and lead the development of a national delivery pipeline.
