Job summary

The Corporate Governance team is responsible for championing good governance across NHS England and helping to ensure that the organisation is well run and improving and is hosted within the Chief Delivery Officer directorate.

The team is responsible for a number of critical corporate activities to support NHS England in good decision making and its system of controls and assurance, enabling the organisation to deliver on its commitments and duties. The team directly feeds into the Executive Corporate Group, Executive Risk Group and the Audit and Risk Assurance Committee.

Main duties of the job

As a Compliance Lead, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across the organisation to implement and evidence the highest standards of corporate governance.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support in the development of a compliance plan for NHS England which will ensure adherence to organisational controls.
  • Oversee compliance activities by the team in support of an NHS England compliance plan.
  • Management of the production of the Annual Report and Accounts alongside colleagues in Finance directorate.
  • Build relationships with business owners and directorate leads relevant to compliance activity.
