Job summary

The HR & OD Function provides a single comprehensive HR & OD service across the Organisation. It will support senior leaders and line managers to recruit, retain, deploy and develop the Organisations workforce, and develop and implement HR & OD policies and practices to enable a healthy high performing organisation that is diverse and inclusive.

The HR & OD Function will lead formal partnership arrangements with recognised unions and reward, through pay and benefits, the workforce in- line with relevant legislation, governance and terms and conditions.

Main duties of the job

This full-time (37.5 hours p/w) internship will give you the opportunity to learn new skills and gain experience within the NHS at NHS England. This internship will last for 8 months. Your internship will cover a variety of tasks such as project support, data management, administrative support amongst other collaborative support.

As well as the support of our newly formed Employee Relations team, you will have a dedicated mentor who will work with you for the duration on the internship ensuring that you are offered the opportunity to explore HR and gain practical experience allowing you to develop and progress in your career.

This internship role will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across the Employee Relations accountabilities within NHS England.

You should have:

o Have a passion for HR and a human centric approach to employee relations

o Have a strong interest in employment law

o Possess strong analytical skills and be able to interpret reports and data to provide meaningful insight to the team

o Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills

o Be willing to learn, creative and have an inquisitive mind set

o A strong understanding of confidentiality and ability to remain compliant

o Have a proactive, can do attitude with strong attention to detail

o Be proficient in Microsoft Office Package

The Employee Relations team are employee relations specialists who partner with managers and staff to advise and coach on the application of Employee Relations policies, support attendance reviews and employee relations cases.
