Job summary

The South East Covid Vaccination Team manages, co-ordinates and oversees the delivery of the regional Covid vaccination programme, working collaboratively with ICBs to ensure maximum levels of vaccination uptake and coverage across the regional population. The team work to ensure equalities remain at the heart of delivery, initiatives are quality and population focused, and decisions are data driven.

As a Project Manager within the Clinical & Quality team, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic and supportive multidisciplinary team in delivering safe, effective and evidence-based services and supporting managers and staff across the South East Covid Vaccination Team to run a high performing vaccination service.

The post holder will work alongside and support the Head of Nursing, Clinical and Quality within the Covid team to ensure that the work of the clinical team is planned and managed effectively and take the lead in assisting in their successful delivery. The post is an opportunity to gain exposure to working at regional level, building relationships and working collaboratively with ICB colleagues to support and develop high quality clinical pathways, quality assurance systems and associated quality improvements.

Main duties of the job

The successful post holder will be a registered nurse with a clinical and operational background and project management experience. They must have a broad understanding of clinical quality, safety and patient experience and be passionate about influencing quality improvement and clinical outcomes.

We are looking for applicants with a range of clinical, quality and project experience, which enables them to support and achieve the main responsibilities of the role:

  • To manage clinical Incidents on behalf of the Covid programme, working in partnership to achieve and manage these effectively.
  • Work collaboratively to ensure incidents are investigated effectively, lessons learned captured and shared appropriately.
  • To produce the monthly quality and safety report, identifying key incident themes, emerging risks/issues and that mitigation and lessons learned are captured and effectively embedded.
  • To support the clinical cell team to manage quality improvement work related to clinical aspects of the programme.
  • To support the resolution of covid vaccination clinical and quality issues, raised by ICBs, escalating key areas of concerns and updating the clinical risk register and supporting mitigation as appropriate.
  • Play an active role in clinical team meetings, updating on your portfolio of work and contributing to the smooth running of the clinical and programme strategy.
  • Work collaboratively across the wider programme team.
