Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work on the continued development of our Mental Health programme of work with systems across the East of England. This role will support NHS England priorities, using project management skills to provide support across the programme.

The role of Mental Health Senior Project Manager supports the delivery of high-quality mental health programmes and ongoing implementation of the long-term plan for mental health.

The successful candidate will need to be able to work quickly and independently in a very faced paced and rapidly changing environment, along with project management skills and the ability to support all aspects of the full project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will be resilient and adaptable, with a 'can-do' attitude, and quality improvement skills, and experience of supporting large scale projects across organisational and geographic boundaries.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will draw on their specialist knowledge of quality improvement and project management, combined with excellent communication and influencing skills to support delivery of national and ICB mental health strategy.

The role is expected to work in an agile way to respond to regional and ICS priorities and will support short to medium term projects.

  • Educated to a masters in a relevant subject (such as mental health) or equivalent level of experience.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Have an understanding of the background to and aims of current health and social care policy and experience of identifying and interpreting national policy.

  • Must be able to prioritise own work effectively and be able to direct activities of others.
