Job summary
The North West School of Radiology (NWSOR) is seeking applications forSubspecialty Curriculum Leads who willwillbe responsible forthecoordination and delivery of the School's Academy curriculum.
We are currently seeking appointments for the below subspecialties:
- Chest/Cardio
- GI
- MSK
- GU/Gynae
- Ultrasound
- Interventional (IR)
The post holders willbe responsible forcurriculum coverage and delivery within the sub speciality sessions in the ST1 & ST2 Academy placements. Thisincludesliaisingwith consultants in the region to support deliveryand curriculum coverageof teaching sessions.
The post holder will have teaching commitments as part of the 1PA sessional role (1 per month in the first 6 months, increasing to 2 sessions per month after 6 months). This will need to be set as a pre-agreed 'Academy Day' prior to appointment to support rotational timetabling.
The IR Subspecialty Lead will be required to work collaboratively with the IR Sim Lead and IR TPD to deliver and build the IR Simulation curriculum. The IR Simulation Suite based at Aintree University Hospital, Liverpool will be the host site for a number of teaching sessions.
The US Subspecialty Lead will be required to deliver practical ultrasound teaching and assessment within one of the collaborative US hub sites.
Travel to our regional Academy sites is expected and required for all of our posts. All mileage and incurred expenses are reimbursed.

oMaintain and contribute to CIMAR database
oAcademy placement teaching 2 sessions per month
oPre-agreed nominated academy teaching day prior to appointment
oResponsible for curriculum coverage and delivery of all specialty specific sessions in the ST1 and ST2 academy
oUpdate curriculum once set up including yearly review
oLiaise with specialty specific colleagues within the region for teaching sessions and create common specialty specific tutor group across the NW training sites
oAdvise multi-professional imaging practice for NWIA
oCo-ordinate teaching with programme support team
oLiaise and work with Academy Director and Exam support lead
oBi yearly - meeting performance review with Academy Director/AHoS/HoS
oYearly Appraisal and Educator MSF
oAttend yearly academy development day meeting
The post holder will also mentor Senior Clinical Lecturers (ST4+) in post and offer direction and support for teaching delivery and observations.
The post holder will work collaboratively with Academy Director, Head of School, TPDs and Programme Support to supportrobustoperational deliveryof the Academywithin the NW School of Radiology.
