Job summary
This post provides an exciting opportunity to join an established team driving change in Advanced Practice at regional and sub-regional level. You will play a pivotal role in maximising the opportunity for workforce transformation by supporting the training and upskilling of the relevant workforce against the standards set by the Centre, driving up quality in Advanced Practice education and most importantly ensuring safe and effective services for patients.
This post will require you to apply your existing knowledge, skills and expertise in a flexible and dynamic way to lead this change and make a real difference. It provides opportunity to operate at a senior level leading a vital area of workforce transformation and education planning/delivery and will provide valuable experience for operating in innovative, 'high stakes' change management and senior programme leadership roles.
This role will have a focus on the training and development of Advanced Practice in Surgical and other secondary care settings. However, this is not exclusive and the postholder will require flexibility and transferable skills in addition to specialist knowledge in those areas to contribute to the wider agenda and work of the Faculty also as priorities and needs arise.
Main duties of the job
Provide Advanced Practice leadership and programme management expertise at a regional level
Contribute to the strategic and operational development of the Regional Faculty for Advanced Practice
Contribute to proactively managing the key risks and issues associated with the regional delivery plan
Act as a conduit of information between the Centre for Advancing Practice, NHSE regional and national teams
Work in partnership with the existing regional enabling function
Develop the relationship and engagement strategy to facilitate local health and social care systems including ICSs to recognise the importance of Advanced Practice in service transformation
Contribute to ensuring the Faculty strategy is formulated, understood by all stakeholders, and is delivered
Work with workforce planning and business intelligence colleagues to identify current and future Advanced Practitioner demand and supply and optimise workforce
Provide support and advice to ICS members on the development of the existing and future workforce and the delivery of the transformation plan outcomes
Create and deliver a wide range of reports
