Job summary
The Diagnostics Recovery & Transformation Programme is the largest single investment programme in the NHS in terms of capital and revenue.
The programme consists of a national team and seven regional teams with further resource devolved to ICS and diagnostic network level.
The National Specialty Adviser is responsible for providing clinical advice to the Diagnostics Recovery & Transformation Programme in the areas of Vascular Science, GI Physiology and Urodynamics as well as advice and support in the development of strategy and policy relating to the Diagnostics programme.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be accountable for leading all activities including, but not limited to:
- Provide clinical leadership and advice to the Diagnostic Programme and Physiological Sciences Programme.
- Identify operational productivity improvement opportunities and develop products to support this and inform suitable metrics to measure delivery.
- Ensure that the projects remain aligned to NHSE and system wide objectives.
- Secure buy-in and remove barriers to delivery, including working with trusts and relevant national bodies and societies.
- Where appropriate form effective internal relationships and close working with the Getting It Right First Time and Digital programmes to ensure that work is aligned.
- Attend service site visits across England to support service optimisation.
- Support emerging physiological science Network leadership teams in the formation of those networks.
