NHS England Workforce, Training and Education have an exciting opportunity to work as part of the Trainee Pharmacist Programme Team within the South West region. We are looking for passionate, enthusiastic individuals to provide professional expertise to shape and provide the building blocks for the pharmacist workforce of the future. The role will involve working with trainees, education, training and development leads, and pharmacy employers across the region to ensure consistency, standardisation, and quality management of the Pharmacy Foundation Training Programme in the South West.

Main duties of the job

Under the direction of the Pharmacy Foundation Training Lead this post supports trainee pharmacists across the South West to:

Design and implement appropriate teaching, learning and assessment plans to support trainees and their educational supervisors

Be an active member of the team contributing to the design and development of the pharmacy education programme

Support the business planning processes to provide input into strategic development

Identify and support pharmacy trainees requiring additional support

Contribute to the availability of high-quality training and support for education leads and supervisors

Provide professional expertise on a specific portfolio of work

Manage the provision and development of resources, services and opportunities for pharmacists and their educators from across the healthcare professions

Support equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives in pharmacy education

Oversee a portfolio of training activity programmes

Have an understanding and awareness of how the activities and objectives of the department align with the wider business planning for NHS England Workforce, Training and Education, in particular to the South West and a designated local area

  • Experience and understanding of evaluating, measuring and reporting on performance and impact, drawing on complex information from a variety of sources
  • Communicate complex concepts and subject matter clearly, adapting approach for different audiences and avoiding jargon
