Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity within WT&E - South East Region within the Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education Team. We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals with excellent administrative, project management, organisational and management skills to be part of a team that administers our Postgraduate doctors and dentists in training support and education activities across the region.

The Education Programme Manager (PSWS) role will support the delivery and operational management of the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Professional Support and Wellbeing Service (PSWS). The PSWS provides a valuable service to postgraduate doctors in training to support their training progression and wellbeing. The role will also manage the Supported Return to Training programme across KSS.

The postholder will work with the Regional PSWS Business Manager to develop the newly created KSS Professional Support & Wellbeing Service and transition of KSS postgraduate doctors from the London services.

This is project management and managerial role, supporting key workstreams and providing leadership and management, including line management the KSS Support and Development Officer. The role will also support the South-East PSWS service working closely with PSWS staff in Wessex and Thames Valley.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will provide comprehensive project management and operational management to support the work of the KSS Professional Support & Wellbeing Service. We are looking for people with the following experience and skills:

Management experience in education/workforce/personnel or a HR function.

Experience of day-to-day line management of a team of staff including responsibility for undertaking appraisal and development activities.

Demonstrable experience of managing and coordinating projects in complex and challenging environments and drafting briefing papers up to and including at senior management level.

Ability to collate comprehensive draft reports, data and letters, sourcing relevant information as required.

Experience of financial/budget management and able to understand complex financial issues as well as demonstrating strong analytical skills.

Experience of dealing with a wide range of stakeholders and providing complex information and advice.
