Job summary
We are recruiting a Senior Strategy Manager to join NHS England's Strategy Team, which sits within the Strategy Directorate.You would join our team at a critical and exciting time as we continue to support the NHS to tackle some of its biggest complex and important issues.
At the heart of strategic development in the NHS, the team works across directorates to inform strategic decisions and shape policies. The team's key functions fall into three broad categories:
Cross cutting strategy - Holding the central strategy narrative and feeding into wider NHS processes. This includes generating insight into challenges and opportunities, feeding into development of the long and medium term strategy. The team also supports the Chief Executive and the Board in strategic discussions; for example, election and spending review preparations, as well as feeding into NHSE business planning
Strategic reviews - Leading or supporting specific strategy projects. Recent examples include a review of the eyecare pathway, co-ordinating national, regional, system and provider stakeholders in the development and drafting of the elective recovery strategy to reduce waiting lists,a review of national Infrastructure
Setting and supporting strategy standards across NHS England.
Main duties of the job
Senior Strategy Managers work across a range of projectsandall will include:
setting directionfor complex, high profile programmes
managing teams, resources and relationships with senior stakeholders
providing support and thought leadership to the strategyteam as a whole, supportingteam and corporate development activities as a member of the extended leadership team.
You will have excellent strategic problem-solving skills, the ability to lead analysis and use data and evidence to maximum effect, combined with an excellent knowledge of the health and care sector.
