As a Specialist Pharmacy Advisor, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across the East of England to provide professional, independent pharmaceutical advice to the East of England focusing on the identification, dissemination, impactassessment of NICE and other national policy guidance on specialised services, drugs and technologies.The post holder will support the Lead Pharmacist in the provision of an efficient, effective and high quality professional pharmaceutical advice service capable of meeting all statutory, regulatory and NHS requirements ensuring alignment with the activity of the organisation.The role supports the business in driving transformation as well as value for money in planning, commissioning and service. The role is designed to build a combination of subject matter expertise and technical skills to develop a strong service delivery.

Job responsibilities
To undertake reviews of the evidence of clinical and cost effectiveness to support decision making. Ensure national guidance is appropriately prioritised and incorporated into clinical effectiveness programmes. To horizon scan and benchmark to identify opportunities for efficiencies/ adopting best practice. To monitor high cost drug expenditure and benchmark against indicative budget. To evaluate NICE and high cost therapies recommendations and identify the local financial impact of such recommendations. To monitor delivery against the Regions high cost drug QIPP agenda and to actively support the Region in the performance management of Trusts with respect to high cost drug budgets. To work collaboratively across the NHS England and NHS Improvement matrix, including integrating the National Directors portfolio.
Salary Progression Applicants will commence at the bottom of Band 8b with a full-time starting salary of £58,972, with a pay step increase after 5 years service. These salaries are offered in accordance with NHS Terms and Conditions and the HEE Pay Progression Policy and are subject to annual cost of living review.
