Job summary

NHS England is looking to appoint a Deputy Foundation School Director for Quality. It is expected that the role will be taken up by an existing Foundation Training Programme Director (FTPD) within a specific school (Central/South/North) in the West Midlands.

The post attracts 1PAs which will be reimbursed to the successful candidate's employing Trust at £10,000 (pro rata)

Main duties of the job

The role of Deputy Foundation School Director for Quality is to work with and support theFoundation School Director (FSD) inleading the delivery ofa wide range of functions,aligned tothe NHSE mandate. Their role will focus on quality activity within then the foundation school.

The Deputy FSD is professionally and managerially accountable to the FSD. The Deputy FSD will focus upon improvement of learner supervision, assessment and experience, engagement of faculty and ensuring effective educational outcomes, both now and in the future. There may be occasions when the post holder has to deputise for the Head of School at national or local meetings.

To support the Postgraduate Dean, the Deputy FSD will work across the spectrum of health and where relevant, social care, within the context of a team, so that the provision of education reflects changing service models. This will deliver an integrated workforce comprising individuals from a spectrum of professional and other backgrounds.

The Deputy FSD for quality contributes to foundation training within a specific school (Central / South / North) in the West Midlands Region. The Deputy FSD for quality is integral to the work of the foundation school board as it oversees the quality of training in all foundation posts in the school rotations as well as highlighting patient safety issues where they are identified.
