Job summary

The SPL Contract Management Lead oversees the day-to-day Specialist Pharmaceutical Logistics providers (SPLs) who deliver Covid-19 vaccines and related ancillaries into the Local Vaccination Services, namely Primary Care Networks, General Practitioners, Community Pharmacies in England.It is a critical role for the Supply Chain team as it not only encompasses standard contract manager activity but also ensures vaccine supply to sites is not disrupted or prevented through effective management of the SPLs.The SPL Operations Manager is the interface between the Supply Chain team and the SPL providers.There is a requirement for the SPL Operations Manager to be a primary point of contact to deal with customer elated issues generated from NHS National, Regional and Integrated Care Systems teams.The SPL Operations Manager will be required to interface with NHS Commercial and Financial leads on a weekly and monthly basis in relation to adherence to contractual obligations for the Authority.

Main duties of the job

Day to day contract and account management of the SPLEnsuring the SPL are set up operationally to deliver all requirements of the EECL programme.Providing weekly forecasts to the SPL.Review all aspects of operational performance through daily, weekly, and period Key Performance Indicator and Performance Indicator reporting.Ensure that the SPLs are operating within the financial controls of the budget and regular reviews are held with the programme Finance Business Partner.

Produce and facilitate all change controls through the appropriate authority channels.Oversee all project activity either supporting requirement of Supply Chain i.e., new initiatives or SPL specific activity such as improving efficiencies.Ensure that operational efficiency is maintained.Ensure that that the end user customer is at the heart of everything the SPLs do.Ensure that day to day issues and complaints received from sites, National and Regional teams are dealt with in a timely manner, including resolution.Design, create and implement transport schedules in relation to the creation of new delivery schedule for campaignsRelationship management with UKHSA in the event of the need to provide support outside standard SPL arrangements

Salary Progression Applicants will commence at the bottom of Band 8c with a full-time starting salary of £78,163, with a pay step increase after 5 years service. These salaries are offered in accordance with NHS Terms and Conditions and the HEE Pay Progression Policy and are subject to annual cost of living review.
