Job summary
The Training Programme Director in Dental Core Training NHSENW will support the Associate Dental Dean in the Strategic Development of the School of Dentistry.
The post holder will lead on the development of the School's Recruitment and Retention Strategy and contribute to supporting the School Operational Programme. The post holder will be a member of the Dental Core Training Executive Committee.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be one of a team of 5 TPDs, their particular area of responsibility will be DCT within Cheshire and Merseyside OMFS units.
The post holder will be tasked with delivery of the objectives set out in the Dental Education Reform Programme (DERP) and by COPDEND through the DCT Advisory Group.
Work in collaboration with Associate Dental Dean for Dental Core Training to develop and implement a Medical and Dental Workforce Strategy which supports the recruitment and retention of Dental Core Trainees
To support the Head of School in managing trainee underperformance with the support of the Lead Associate Dean for the specialty, in line with the NHSE North West Office Doctors and Dentists Review Group/Trainees Requiring Extra Support (TRES) framework.
To liaise with the NHSE North West Office training programmes in Dental Foundation, Core and specialty as requested by the Head of School, to support the development and provision of training opportunities.
To attend the Dental Core Training Executive Committee and support the Associate Dental Dean and Dental Dean in facilitating appropriate engagement from Training Programme Directors and other stakeholders.
