Job summary

The New Hospital Programme's People Directorate will have the courage to do things differently and attract and inspire a passionate workforce to achieve the very ambitious goals of the Programme. They will develop and execute the people journey, transforming the success of the Programme through an inclusive and collaborative culture and the right people policies and procedures to enable the workforce to deliver

The purpose of the Head of HR Business Partnering role is to:

  • Lead the HR Business Partnering team to deliver great people approaches and enable Directorates to deliver the NHP strategy
  • Oversee the effective collation, analysis and reporting of People data, ensuring actionable insights are generated that drive effective decision making on people issues

Main duties of the job

  • Lead the Business Partnering team to provide the NHP with the People guidance, support and accountability needed whilst adhering to the NHSE and NHP people processes and policies
  • Coach and provide feedback to key stakeholders
  • Build a robust and effective Business partnering strategy and approach with the executives and senior leadership team
  • Work with stakeholders from across NHP to identify, discuss & resolve people challenges
  • Provide expert guidance on people practices such as restructures & succession planning
  • Provide people expertise & solutions to NHP Directorates, enabling them to deliver their strategic outcomes
  • Define People data & reporting requirements to ensure People analytics drives better outcomes
  • Make sure people data is aligned to to wider NHP data sets where applicable & reported in a transparent, accessible and useable way
  • Advise the HR business partnering team on the best course of action, using People data analysis and insights
  • Continuously improve the effectiveness of the programme by incorporating lessons into future decisions & activities
  • Establish & develop the HR Business Partnering team
  • Ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of all staff within the department
  • Ensure compliance with all confidentiality and governance requirements
  • Create an inclusive working environment where diversity is valued, everyone can contribute & we meet our duty to uphold and promote equality

Essential

  • Educated to Masters level or equivalent level or equivalent experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
  • Excellent understanding of the people challenges that face a fast-moving, major Programme
  • Proven and significant leadership experience and/or formal management qualification
  • Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to deal with challenging situations in a formal setting
  • Commitment to and focused on quality, promotes high standards in all they do.
  • Experience leading and managing HR teams, setting strategic direction, and driving performance to achieve business objectives.
  • Deep understanding of HR business partnering principles and practices.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing HR strategies and plans.
  • Substantial experience of resourcing and recruitment.
  • Good experience in change management and organisational development
  • Thorough understanding of HR policies, employment laws, and regulations to ensure compliance
  • Experience of successfully operating in and delivering priorities in a partnership environment
  • Ability to translate business needs into HR priorities, initiatives, and programs
