Main duties of the job
Reporting to the Member Management & Development Specialist, the post holder will be critical in the day to day operating of the team, working to deliver a positive experience for our volunteers in all aspects of the support they ned.
Experience in supervision or line management is critical to ensure they work well with their team to develop and implement processes to deliver an efficient service.
The post holder will be responsible for the efficient running of the team and ensuring that all initiatives and deliverables are timely and of a high standard.
The post holder will be critical in providing data and reports on various aspects of the team's work. Setting up processes to monitor ongoing compliance with GAfREC and regulations will be essential in providing assurances as part of quality and audit.
The ability to work well to deliver multiple pieces of work each with their own pressures and deadlines is a must.
About us
This role sits within the HRA Approvals Service directorate which consists of various teams that all work together to provide the appropriate approval for health research in England and, for some applications, across the UK.
This directorate is responsible for:
- Delivering HRA Approval- Supporting the Confidentiality Advisory Group and advising on the use of confidential patient information without consent- Working to refine the systems and processes researchers need to follow to ensure a swift, robust and simple experience- Providing guidance to applicants- Providing training- Working collaboratively with external partners to improve the research environment

The post holder will also critically support the practical implementation of initiatives like the member mentor scheme, matching new members with mentors, ensuring the team provides support in arranging meetings and tracking outputs to contribute to reporting on the impact of such schemes.
The post holder will communicate with new members to ensure onboarding happens swiftly and to arrange induction training, as well as putting in place all the practical arrangements needed for new members, supported by the team of administrators.
The post holder will ensure that all members complete training as required as part of the member Terms and Conditions.
