We have a new opportunity in our Data Engineering Team. To be considered for this you will already have some broad IT experience in both database administration and software engineering. You will need to demonstrate that you are self-motivated, analytic and a logical thinker, would like to become a Certified Data Management Professional and are the sort of person who will support and help others to better understand systems, data and data flows across the whole organisation, at all levels.
Working in the Data Engineering team and reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, you will be an SME in system assurance helping to develop solutions to monitor and improve the quality of data usage across the organisation. You will also contribute to the identification and handling of quality gaps across all areas of organisational data consumption. Other key tasks include implementation of the QA framework, conducting indexing checks, deployment plans and sign offs, and approvals on SOPs & documented process.

Main duties of the job
Taking responsibility for database tuning, maintaining indexes and solving issues such as fragmentation.
Transferring knowledge into Azure, for monitoring efficiencies of a Logical Data Warehouse
Using appropriate monitoring tools to keep an eye on database and data view performance, and ensure preventative measures are taken where possible.
Implementing database maintenance plans.
Prepare to be called upon to assist with issues identified by database users, such as long-running queries and resource bottlenecks.
Maintaining operating manuals and providing support for database use.
Assisting in the Implementation and management monitoring system for new data in an Azure Data Lake
