Job summary
Hours:
37.5hrs per week fixed
term/secondment for 12 months with the potential to extend
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and
experienced Midwife to join NHS Resolutions Early Notification (EN) team National
Midwifery Clinical Fellow on a fixed term/secondment contract.
In April 2017, NHS Resolution launched the EN scheme,
which is the flagship of NHS Resolutions five-year strategy.
The aims of the scheme are threefold: to carry out an
accelerated liability investigation to understand whether there may be an
underlying legal claim; to collate, analyse and disseminate learning to try and
reduce harm; and as far as possible to improve the experience of being involved
in an adverse incident for families and staff.
Main duties of the job
This is a unique opportunity to work at a national level
and contribute to improving outcomes in maternity. A large proportion of the
role will involve reviewing case files and providing feedback on how we can
best learn from claims to prevent future harm, sharing learning from incidents
reported into the Early Notification scheme, and managing the EN caseload for a
region in England.
Additional responsibilities include the opportunity to:
represent NHS Resolution at external meetings with partner organisations, and
attend and present at local, regional and national maternity meetings/events/conferences.
Interview date (via MS teams): 25 March 2024
