Job summary
NHS Resolution is seeking to appoint two Independent Members to our Audit and Risk Committee. We are seeking insight, expertise and independent advice to the Committee the Chief Executive as Accounting Officer and the Board.
Main duties of the job
The Independent Members will complement the skills and expertise of our ARC Non-Executive Directors in bringing significant senior experience of working within finance, governance, internal control, risk management and assurance.
You will have real insight and experience of these functions, ideally gained in a large complex organisation in the public, private or voluntary sector. You will have strong capability in analysing complex and sometimes conflicting data, including financial data, to draw balanced conclusions from information presented and to share these with the Committee. You will also have a good understanding of how strategic risk management can help increase the performance of the organisation and be able to critically assess and support setting direction and providing feedback on these areas.
We anticipate that one of the Independent Members will have a background or expertise in financial services, either in the public or private sector and that one or both of the candidates will be financially qualified. Previous NHS experience is not required for this role.

Safety and Learning: supporting the NHS to better understand and learn from claims, concerns and disputes; to target safety activity while sharing learning across the NHS.
