Job summary

We are recruiting a Project Manager to join the Digital team within our Digital, Data & Technology (DDaT) service to support in the management of the design and implementation of multiple technology deliveries on a 2 Year Fixed Term Contract

The purpose of the role is to manage the delivery of one or more end to end project work streams within DDaT, ensuring that work streams are delivered with appropriate project techniques and in line with best practice to deliver project outputs that enable benefits aligned to our strategic priorities. Working with colleagues across Digital, DDaT and our organisation as a whole you will lead on delivering work aligned to managing new discrete services, managing our existing services portfolio and supporting colleagues in Data and Technology in delivery of business critical services. This is an exciting role at the heart of our Digital team where you will have the opportunity to help shape how we engage with our DDaT colleagues and the organisation as a whole whilst having the opportunity to work on a varied set of projects with support from our Digital Projects Lead and the Head of Digital amongst others.

Main duties of the job

Role responsibilities include:

· To build and maintain strong relationships with the business, senior stakeholders, and external stakeholders (Including existing and future third part suppliers) as well as our PMO team to ensure the delivery and governance of a project to agreed scope, time, cost and quality.

· Builds productive relationships across the organisation, identifying and developing engagement opportunities with key stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are understood and accepted by all stakeholders.

· Support in the discovery and scoping of projects and work streams working closely with subject matter experts, users and business analysts to shape and scope these projects appropriately.

· Plan and manage these projects and work streams through to production utilising agile methodology to iteratively refine and release value to the organisation over time.

· To effectively champion and support change processes and tools.

· Quality Management of the Delivery Approach

  • Experience of successfully leading and delivering technology focused projects that include implementing new technology solutions that impact multiple business areas.
  • Understanding of all stages of a digital service lifecycle including experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment, effectively managing resources and competing demands, establishing and operating within a defined change governance framework, working with third party suppliers, and delivering the intended outcomes/benefits on time and within budget whilst meeting NHS service standard.
  • Experience of successfully managing risks and issues within a complex project environment.

Desirable

  • Experience of successfully delivering projects within the public sector

Skills and Abilities

Essential

  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to deliver results.
  • Ability and resilience to receive and deliver challenging information constructively, while using effective communication skills to achieve the desired outcome, which may require tact and diplomacy to reconcile a variety of perspectives and gain consensus
  • Ability to deliver IT & business change projects within a complex, constantly changing environment while being confident and capable under pressure.
  • Showcase string management and team working skills including a proven ability to set goals and manage change effectively
