Job summary
We are looking for 1 full time or 2 part time Neonatologists for 37.5 hours per week.
Pay Band: AfC 8b or Equivalent salary according to Hospital Medical and Dental Staff (according to stage of training/ experience).
In April 2017, NHS Resolution launched the EN scheme, since then, all maternity services have been required to notify NHS Resolution of incidents where there is the potential for long-term severe brain injury. The aims of the scheme are threefold: to carry out an accelerated liability investigation to understand whether there may be an underlying legal claim; to collate, analyse and disseminate learning to try and reduce harm; and as far as possible to improve the experience of being involved in an adverse incident for families.
This is a unique opportunity to work at a national level and contribute to improving outcomes in maternity. The role will involve supporting work across the Safety and Learning directorate in relation to our maternity and neonatal strategic priority, reviewing case files to ensure cases referred to the scheme meet our outcome first criteria, providing an opinion on the neonatal care, and feeding back on how we can learn from claims to prevent future harm.
