As with all functions across NHS Resolution, our mission is to provide expertise to the NHS on resolving concerns fairly, sharing learning for improvement and helping to preserve resources for patient care. Patient safety and public protection are paramount in the work we do, as is our drive to help practitioners return to safe and valued practice, ultimately conserving resources for the NHS.

The Advice service is evolving in line with NHS Resolution's strategic ambition and to meet the changing needs of our service users and the wider healthcare system. This requires us to be continuously learning, improving, and, when necessary, changing what we do and how we do it.

As a national body, we play a crucial role in influencing and informing the evolving healthcare landscape, striving to achieve a just and learning culture in the management and resolution of performance concerns. Our approach is grounded in compassion, safety, and fairness, requiring us to not only describe how concerns should be resolved but also engage expertly with NHS organisations on their cultures, capabilities, and capacities.
