Job summary

NHS Resolution is transforming how it delivers its core services through the Claims Evolution Programme (CEP) a strategic initiative aimed at building a modern, world-class claims management model for the NHS. To support this transformation, were looking for a skilled Project Manager to lead key workstreams, ensuring projects are delivered to time, scope and quality all while maintaining a focus on benefits realisation and user-centred outcomes. This is an opportunity to contribute to the evolution of one of the most impactful public service organisations in the UK, helping to improve the experience of those we serve and preserving resources for patient care.

NHS Resolution is an Arms Length Body of the Department of Health & Social Care. As a not for profit part of the NHS, our purpose is to provide expertise to the NHS to resolve concerns fairly, share learning for improvement and preserve resources for patients. We have four key service areas: Claims Management: delivering expertise in handling clinical and non-clinical claims to members of our Indemnity Schemes. Practitioner Performance Advice: providing advice, support and interventions in relation to concerns about the individual performance of Doctors, Dentists and Pharmacists. Primary Care Appeals: offering an impartial tribunal service for the fair handling of Primary Care contracting services. Safety and Learning: supporting the NHS to better understand and learn from claims, concerns and disputes; to target safety activity while sharing learning across the NHS.

The opportunity:

NHS Resolution is transforming how it delivers its core services through the Claims Evolution Programme (CEP) – a strategic initiative aimed at building a modern, world-class claims management model for the NHS. To support this transformation, we’re looking for a skilled Project Manager to lead key workstreams, ensuring projects are delivered to time, scope and quality – all while maintaining a focus on benefits realisation and user-centred outcomes.

What you will be doing:

  • Planning and delivering complex cross-functional workstreams within CEP, applying agile principles and best practice project methodologies
  • Engaging and collaborating with stakeholders across the NHS Resolution landscape
  • Supporting the scoping of initiatives with business analysts and subject matter experts, translating requirements into clear project plans and deliverables
  • Driving effective governance through the maintenance of RAID logs, timely escalations, benefit tracking, and progress reporting to ensure alignment with programme goals
  • Facilitating workshops and stakeholder communications to ensure project outputs are clearly understood and adopted
  • Coaching and mentoring colleagues, supporting the project management profession within NHS Resolution

What you will bring:

We are looking for an experienced and adaptable project manager with:

  • Proven experience delivering business or digital transformation projects in a complex environment
  • A solid grounding in project management tools and methodologies (eg. Agile/Waterfall), with relevant certifications.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills – confident in navigating competing priorities and driving consensus
  • The ability to plan, manage, and adapt in a dynamic setting, delivering value iteratively and sustainably
  • Technical and analytical confidence, including experience with tools like MS Project, Jira, and online collaboration platforms
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and user-centred mindset that aligns with NHS Resolution’s strategic values
  • NHS/Health Authority/public sector is desirable but not essential
