Job summary

The NHS Resolution Claims Management function is entering a phase of transformation and expansion with a vision to deliver single, integrated claims function, with a supportive organisational structure that avoids duplication of effort and allows teams to develop their skills.

The Strategic Intervention Team created in February 2020 falls under the Claims Strategy function. The team are looking to

  • Promote collaborative working with claimant solicitors.
  • Develop and test new ways of working and claims strategy.
  • Evaluate claims data to increase learning.
  • Advance our dispute resolution (DR) initiatives.

Find new ways to inspire and cultivate change within the organisation through the furtherance of our business strategy and overall objectives.

We are therefore looking for Claims Strategic Intervention Managers who are innovative and passionate about contributing to change and will be joining us on a permanent contract basis.

Main duties of the job

As a Claims Strategic Intervention Manager you will be responsible for contributing towards working collaboratively with Claimant Solicitors to seek early resolution of claims. Continually learning about specific Claimant behaviour to see where we can make strategic changes and influence the Claims market. Providing Claims Managers with the assistance and tools to consider new ways of working, inviting suggestions and opportunities to further discussion and looking to test and pilot new schemes, ways of working and evaluating successes.

You  will be piloting new schemes and initiatives and working with the Continuous Improvement Team to implement these changes across the Organisation, considering new ways of working and new case management methods. Alongside of the mentioned activities, you will also be responsible for handling your own traditional case workload.

In addition to having technical knowledge and experience of claims management and excellent organisational skills you will also demonstrate the following competencies:

Claims Management: delivering expertise in handling clinical and non-clinical claims to members of our Indemnity Schemes.

Practitioner Performance Advice: providing advice, support and interventions in relation to concerns about the individual performance of Doctors, Dentists and Pharmacists.

Primary Care Appeals: offering an impartial tribunal service for the fair handling of Primary Care contracting services.

Safety and Learning: supporting the NHS to better understand and learn from claims, concerns and disputes; to target safety activity while sharing learning across the NHS.
