Job summary
CDDFT are one of the largest integrated care providers in
England serving a population of around 650,000 people. Acute hospital services
are provided at Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North
Durham and Bishop Auckland Hospital is a centre for planned care. Community
services are provided from six community hospitals alongside eighty other
community based locations.
Synchronicity Care Limited (SCL) /CDD Services
are a wholly owned subsidiary company of County Durham and Darlington NHS
Foundation Trust (CDDFT). SCL/CDD
Services provides a range of non-clinical Estates, Facilities and Procurement
services to CDDFT.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will play an integral role within
the team in ensuring the accurate preparation, cooking and batching of food
products for service within Hollies restaurant and ensuring that the
appropriate record keeping is maintained whilst always working in a safe and
hygienic manner.
The ideal candidate will have proven record of cooking a
busy retail setting and sound knowledge of all food hygiene regulations, HACCP
and allergen regulations. The successful applicant will have

To support and assist the Retail Services Supervisor and Manager
in the provision of a highly professional catering service at Darlington
Memorial Hospital and to ensure that high quality standards are met at all
times
To follow the policies and procedures laid down by the
catering services in the day to day operational management of food service and
to ensure a high quality and cost effective service
To ensure that food safety and allergen regulations are
adhered to at all times.
Provide and maintain a highly customer focused service to
all users
Ensure that communication channels are maintained between appropriate
staff / visitor / patient groups with regard to patient catering.
Work in a safe manner so that no other persons are put at
risk whilst completing the required duties.
Initially deal with any complaints comments regarding the
service in a courteous manner from Trust staff or patients.
Developing staff preferences, promoting flexible working
arrangements, and encourage change of working practice following major life
changing events.
Successful candidate MUST be able to take part in the NHS
chef of the year competition, which is held annually. Creating dishes to suit a
different spec each year. This will include multiple rounds/heats in the
competion, and may include overnight stay.
